Moodle 2.1

Ah at last its here the much anticipated release of moodle 2.1. This will now allow successful backups of old 1.9 courses to be easily imported into the new structure, however lets not get too excited yet as although the question bank is also vastly improved there is much still to be sorted. Hopefully in 2.1 you will be able to import user data as well.
So although this is a major update i am still left wanting.... but I am sure that it will not be long, and moodle 2.? will be the new must have item! well done to all involved and i think I might want to have a play with the new assessment engine

Reinventing the wheel

I have been teaching now for a little while and i have realised that one thing that we are not good at is sharing!

As a parent of a two year old, this is something that i am obviously trying to encourage, but upon reflection how good are we as adults. All the usual excuses come out, I am really busy etc. But really this Internet stuff makes life that little bit easier.

One site that is definitely worth either visiting or contributing to is www.ictcurric.org.uk this is the main section of a new movement (ICT teachers trying to up their game and work more collaboratively and smarter) The resources which include some excellent schemes of work can be found at moodle.ictcurric.org.uk and do not forget to follow them #ictcurric

The face of ICT is changing, in my view for the better there are some very inspiring colleagues out there that are looking for like minded people to create some fantastic stuff, why wouldn't we get involved?

Welcome to the Bloggersphere!

Well after years of reading other people's blogs its now time to have a go myself! I am the VLE manager at my school (moodle 1.9x) and the ex-head of ICT (for now...) I have been teaching for 13 years and actually can honestly say i enjoy what i do. I would like to say that all opinions on this blog are strictly my own and not that of my establishment!
